WEDGE Measurement & Control Growing, Expanding

After a record year in 2007, WEDGE Measurement & Control has announced plans to build a new 40,000+ sf facility near Fort Worth, TX. It will be double the size of the current facility and increase on-site lift capacity to 65 tons from 5 tons.

The new facility will help WEDGE Measurement & Control meet increased orders as well as the shorter delivery times the natural gas supply market now demands. It will also enable the WEDGE business unit to expand within the gas/liquid transmission industry, where it is already recognized as an industry leader in the fabrication of meter tubes, skid-mounted meter runs and packaged measurement stations.

Combined with Wedge Measurement & Control's new 27,500 sf plant in Odessa, TX, the Fort Worth facility will definitely add "room to grow."


WEDGE Real Estate Finance Delivers Mezzanine Financing to RM CROWE Project

WEDGE Real Estate Finance LLC provided a $7.15 million mezzanine loan to assist an RM Crowe affiliate in its $41 million acquisition of the 304-room Marriott Houston West Loop Hotel near Houston's Galleria, EDGE Real Estate Finance LLC is a newly formed subsidiary of WEDGE Real Estate Holdings, Inc., entering the mezzanine lending market in December 2007.

RM Crowe will invest an additional $15 million in upgrading the landmark property located at 1750 W. Loop South. R. Maurice Crowe Jr., owner of the Dallas-based investment group, said the upgrades should take about two years to complete. The Miami office of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP represented the seller. Marriott International, Inc. will manage the property.


Efurd Signed as GM at WEDGE Measurement & Control

Mike Efurd has joined WEDGE Measurement & Control as its new General Manager. A native of East Texas, he relocated to Houston after completing engineering and design studies at North Texas in 1981.

He has joined the company to help reinforce its position as a recognized industry leader in fabricating meter tubes, skid-mounted meter runs and packaged measurement stations. He has 27 years of experience with managed projects that range from simple plant additions to complex gasoline and diesel refinery expansions.

Formerly with both Foster Wheeler and Paragon Engineering, his substantial project management skill set and his strong expertise in instrumentation and electrical add significant capabilities to WEDGE Measurement & Control.
